At the heart of the Shrapnel economy is the SHRAP token, providing utility and the medium of exchange on the Shrapnel platform.

What is it

Publishing

All player-created content (PCC) on the platform will be published on-chain as unique (non-fungible) digital items using the SHRAP token. This use of blockchain technology allows players to claim ownership of their creations. This includes but is not limited to Callsigns, Insignias, skins, maps and vanities. Players can choose to sell, auction, or retain ownership of their creations.

Governance
& promotion

All holders of SHRAP can promote maps and certain vanity items as a way of voting for content, which will affect discoverability. Promoters will receive a portion of performance rewards in SHRAP, based on the content’s popularity.

Gas token
& exchange

The Shrapnel platform is implemented to enable systematic payment of validators in the subnet, giving Players and Creators a gasless experience. Additionally, the SHRAP token is used as a medium of exchange in the Shrapnel Marketplace.

What it enables

Callsigns

Callsigns are unique, on-chain, gamer tags that identify you within the Shrapnel ecosystem. Players may purchase a Callsign using the SHRAP token.

Player Created Content

Creators can publish Insignias, Skins, Map Objects, and fully playable Maps, on-chain, using the SHRAP token. Map Creators are rewarded with SHRAP based on activity generated on the map.

Creator Rewards

Creators and Players may sell and trade their in-game content on the Shrapnel marketplace facilitated by the SHRAP token.

Content Curation

Curators can promote content on the platform using the SHRAP token and be rewarded for successful content discovery.

In-Game Rewards

Players extract gear from competing players during each game session and may sell it on the marketplace for SHRAP. Additional SHRAP rewards can be earned by completing missions and participating in tournaments.
